Everyone is welcome here, but if there is a target for this site, it is my own cohort; the generation who came of age in the 1960s with all that entailed in terms of social consciousness and a driving desire to live their lives differently.

Industry research shows us that this demographic is traveling. They are back on the road, rediscovering their passion for unencumbered wandering, this generation that coined the term, backpacker travel.

They are travelling light and they are invigorated by learning. They are determined to do no harm and carry their social consciousness with them. That said, they are now doing it on plastic and aging joints have generated a market for the “backpack on wheels.”

This site is intended to inform, to interest and to inspire users to discover their own “mighty purpose” and share their recipes for a “life well spent”. Travel is an essential ingredient of my own “life well spent” so there will be a lot about travel on this site. But it’s not the only ingredient in my recipe. As the site matures, expect the eclectic – a mix of information and opinion about a wide range of topics.
