Pop Top Van for
Sale The "dream machine" we've enjoyed for so many trips since 2008 is now for sale. This is an exceptional opportunity for someone to acquire this professionally camperized van, custom designed for road tripping with lots of modifications and extras. The van has seat belts for six and will sleep four. SPECIFICS: Price: $51,500 Interested? Why are we selling? We've been comfortable in the van for trips as long as four months, however we want to be gone even longer and spend a lot more time traveling through the colder months. With that in mind we've contracted two-foot-itus and want to go just a wee bit bigger with a rig that will winter in a little more comfort. This is the van "top down." It can be stored in most garages. It is very easy to drive and park, even in cities. It's a Class B RV in a street-van package.
Top "up". The roof is fibreglass and can be walked on. It has Yakima racks on runners and we carry our kayaks up there. Bikes, canoes, skis or pods would also fit up there. There is a ladder up the back of the van so you can get on top to secure things.
This view shows the kayaks and the awning extended. Great for sun or rain. The van has brand new, aggressive tires, It is equipped with slip differential so it never gets stuck, has really good clearance.
The racks.
And some extra ski holders we don't need. The van is equipped with solar power (plugs into the back, has two spare tires on rims (one attaches under the back of the vanm), a gas can carrier on the ladder and a heavy duty tow hitch and package. Where the solar panel plugs in - it powers the dual golf cart batteries used to power the fridge, lights and whatever you want to run when you are in the wilderness (not plugged into an RV park). The batteries are good for 3-4 days of power. Running the van for 30 minutes powers them back up again.
External power plugs. There is also an external plug for accessing the built-in propane tank for your barbeque, lantern, campstove, etc.
External light - good to leave on when you're going to be stumbling home in the dark.
Back of the van - a 4-seater dinette. There are 4 seatbelts on the bench seats and storage under the bench seat.
View from the back door.
View from the back door. The seats flip up to access the underbench storage. But we also had hatches installed so that we can access the storage area when the dinette has been made up into a bed. This view shows the hatches open.
As there are only two of us, we travel with the bed made up. So Steve made two drawers to fit under the bed. One pulls out from inside the van, the other from the back door. The dinette benches laid down into a bed. Very comfy foam.
Bed made up and curtain pulled shut.
This shows the top bunk clipped up and out of the way.
The top bunk in the down position. The top bunk is a great place to sleep with the screened windows opening on three sides. It is over six feet long. The lower bed is just under six feet. The "kitchen" fridge with a cupboard below and a pull-out pantry beside.
A large 3.5 cu ft fridge and freezer. The pull-out pantry. The upholstered seat that covers the porta-potty. The porta-potty cupboard clips open at night.
On the other side of the aisle, a large cupboard and two drawers for clothes. Lots of cupboard and drawer space for kitchen equipment and food. There is also a built in very secure "safe" under the stove for photo equipt, laptops, money, passports, etc. Teh European sink and two-burner stove close flat with plexiglass covers so you can use this space when they are not in use. The brushed aluminum "wall" between the stove and the driver's seat protects splatter from the seat. On the driver's side of this wall there are hooks for hanging coats.
The passenger seat reverses around. A folding table provides a great place for indoor dinners, cards, worktop. One person sits on the upholstered "porta potty" cupboard. A privacy curtain snaps across the front dash at night.
