Yes, I am interested in looking at your contributions –
real experiences from real people. Don’t worry about being a Pulitzer-prize-winning
author. An authentic voice is much more important. See How to Tell Your
Story below for writing tips.

TRAVEL
Trip
Reports – first
person accounts
of travel, written
diary style on
the road or as
a summary of
the trip later.
Articles – feature
stories about
a location or
mode of travel
that are more
journalistic
in style.

REST
OF MY LIFE

transition from
regular paid
employment to
a “retired
lifestyle.” Examples:
retiring in a
foreign country,
volunteering,
starting a B&B,
obtaining certification
as an ESL teacher,
running for political
office, redefining
our lives, etc.
WELLNESS
Articles
or Tips ‘n
Tools

everything that
contributes to
our wellness – physical,
mental, emotional,
spiritual. Examples:

humour that
keep circulating
...but you
can
never find
when you really
need
to send someone
a laugh.
POTLUCK
Articles
or Tips ‘n
Tools
Everything that
doesn’t
fit somewhere
else..

Use clear and
simple language – the
same words you
would use to “tell” the
story in person.
Short sentences
and paragraphs
are best.
Details
Provide details – names,
distances, locations,
transit accessibility,
etc.
Include cost
details whenever
possible. Whether
something costs
$30 or $300 is
a critical detail
in helping someone
assess whether
it is an option
for them.
Provide contact
information,
links to further
information,
books and resources
that you found
helpful.
Be very careful
about getting
the details correct – locations,
place names,
distances, contact
numbers and information,
spelling. Inaccuracies
destroy the credibility
of your piece.
Editing
Your article
will be edited
for style and
length. By submitting
it to lifewellspent.com
you acknowledge
that this will
occur and agree
both to it being
edited and being
published on
the lifewellspent.com
website.

Do send up to
6 photos to illustrate
your story. Jpegs
at a low resolution
(72 dpi), no
larger than 250
pixels wide,
please. If you
have additional
photos that would
work well with
the story, please
describe them
rather than sending
immediately with
the article.

Crackling Communications
exerts copyright
on the presentation
of material on
the website lifewellspent.com.
However, the
author (you)
retain copyright
on your original
article and photographs.
Be aware, however,
that once material
is posted on
the internet
people do copy
and use it for
their own purposes.
This cannot be
controlled (unless
you are a lawyer
with endless
amounts of time
and money to
pursue international
litigation).

Please send your article
as an
MS Word
file (minimal
formatting) by
email. The response
may be quick
or we may be
travelling ourselves
and take months.
Be assured, however,
that a response
will come eventually.
Whether or not
your piece is
accepted for
publication depends
on:
- whether or
not we already
have
a similar
piece on the
same topic
- how well
the piece fits
the
style of
this site
- clarity of
the writing
- accuracy
of the details
We can only
accept pieces
of which you
are the original
author, except
in the case of
quotations or
humour that are
attributable
to an author
or unattributable
but in common
circulation.
